Old Post that never made it up.

So I am still failing to keep this thing updated. But I am still alive!
I bought a car!!! It was an interesting round about way that I ended up the car. First I got a flier from these German guys that were selling their car just before they leave the country. Well the Germans tend to think their cars are worth more then they really are, partly because they are in Germany but here, not so much. Any ways they were asking $2300 for the car, so I said $1700, they said the lowest was $2200. So no deal. I then went to Christchurch and went into one of the hostels there that had a bunch of postings on the wall for some cars. I met some lovely blokes from England that were selling the same car as the Germans but it was 2 years newer and a 5 speed. Their price was $1500!
It has been nice to have a car so this small town doesn’t feel so small anymore. Last week I woke up and thought I want to go to the beach. I ended up driving threw the Southern Alps to the west coast. It was so beautiful. The crazy thing is that the west coast is 3 hours away. I went to West Port, drove threw and got out… I stayed in a small campsite that was in Carters bay. I stayed in my car because that is right I have a station wagon!!! I woke up the nest day and went to Punakaiki. This is famous for the pancake rocks. It was amazing because the sun was just coming over the hill and shinning on the sea. I then drove back over to Methven. It is nice now though to be able to get a way for a bit.
I went on a hike right out of town. The place is called Washpen Falls. In a short hour this hike takes you up through a forest, then the rain forest, then through a cow field, then by a water fall, then through Lord of the Rings land, then by another water fall, and back to your start point.
I have also gotten another job here. There is a resort here called Brinkley Resort. Anyways they had me come and help at a wedding and at the end of the night asked me if I wanted to work some there for the winter. I will work there a few nights a week. I am excited for that to do some bar work as well. And in general for the winter to come around!
I think it is now time that I will share the story of my mate that I came over with. Well a short two days into the trip he stopped talking to me. Since then he has completely ignored my presence and shoots me dirty looks. I have little hope or desire now to rekindle our friendship. Sad but at the end of the day I am in NEW ZEALAND! I love it and it was just the thing I needed.
I miss everyone and the comfort of back home. But I think when a place gets too comfortable in life it is the time to change. Thoughts of figuring a way to stay here permanently have started to cross my mind more and more. There is just something special about this place. But for now I will just take it day by day!!!
